In 2012, the Curiosity Rover landed on Mars, and a strange and joyous horn melody in 9/8 sprang into my still-developing brain. In 2018, I finally got the inspiration and drive to compose and orchestrate a 4.5-minute song with the horn melody at its core. In 2020, during a worldwide pandemic that shut down nearly everything else I was working on, I decided to assemble a team to make a professional recording remotely. Thirteen musicians later, I had a whole song I could share with the world.
