My collaborator A. J. Freeman and I are back with another new musical via the Library for the Performing Arts. This time, we’re presenting our new show Home’r Bust! a musical odyssey for young audiences. (Book and lyrics by A. J. Freeman, music by Maria Caputo)

We will have two presentations in the lobby of David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center.

When: Wednesday, July 8, at 11 am and 1 pm
Where: David Geffen Hall Lobby at 10 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY 10023

Runtime: about 40 minutes

Age range: The Library says ages 0-5. All are welcome! There are plenty of jokes for the grownups.

As part of Storytime at Lincoln Center’s Summer for the City, both shows are FREE and open to the public.

Families will receive a free copy of The Odyssey: A Babylit Monsters Primer by Jennifer Adams as supplies last.

With the World Cup scheduled to be in full swing at this time, the Library asked A. J. if she had a soccer musical for kids. So she brought me on board to write this very silly show.

In our musical reimagining of Homer’s “The Odyssey”, Ulysses is not a man returning home from war; now, Uly is a ten-year-old kid walking home from a big soccer match. The “monsters” from Homer’s tale are now creatures, people, and obstacles from a New York neighborhood.

Our amazing cast includes:

  • Sienna Aczon (Heart Strings)

  • Connor Marsh (The Very Hungry Caterpillar)

  • Claire-Frances Sullivan (Ceilidh)

  • Racquel Williams (Book of Mormon)
